Fan Choice: Playoff Edition
Bow is up for the recognition

Landon Bow of the Seattle Thunderbirds has had a pretty exceptional season. It started off in unknown territory early on in the season when he was transferred to the T-Birds after they decided to give Logan Flodell a bit of competition to amp up their game, getting rid of Taz Burman in the process. More representative of the loss of Taz than the acquisition of Bow himself, the fan acceptance of Bow was very slow to grow among many fans. In fact, it wasn’t until just recently that fans started to really cheer him on without reservation.

It was Bow’s first transfer to a new team and it did take a little while for him to get in the groove and mesh well with the Birds at first. That is pretty normal with any transfer, especially in the junior leagues, and some fans just forget that players happen to be human. It wasn’t long and he was defending the T-Birds with a hungry ferocity—but it just wasn’t as consistent as fans had hoped, which many critics chalked up to his nervousness and general transitioning to the team. Bow has been winning so many playoff games lately and has led so many shutouts that there aren’t many naysayers left in the crowd.

This week’s fan choice vote includes Bow, and so far, he is winning by a pretty wide margin. He is up against LaBanc and Dostie. Last week Barzal lost to Turcotte, so let’s all vote for Bow and give him the proper Seattle welcome he should have received by making him a fan favorite this week! You can review all of the nominations at the website and see the awesome moves they were nominated for (Bow’s was his “Big Save,” while Barzal’s last week was his “Backhand Score”) before you vote, too. It’s always fun to just participate and see who wins the coveted fan of the week honor anyway, so why not?

In the meantime, tickets remain on sale for the upcoming playoff games against the Kelowna Rockets. Games 3 and 4 will take place in Seattle, with game 3 being a 2-for-Tuesday game and both games featuring discounts for group rates. You can get them online as well as the box office, but get them soon before they sell out. Suites can even be purchased for $120 off, so be sure to ask about the deals that are left when you buy your tickets.
