Mariners Minor League Game Action Recap for July 26
Banner night for C-Peg: 6 hits including HR ... Pagan remains perfect as a pro ... Julio leaves the schoolyard ... etc.

Not much time to get this done today.  Sorry 'bout that.

News: Probably well known by now, but Mike Zunino (Talk40 #1) to the disabled list with broken bone in his left hand.  No need to dip into the minors for his replacement, since journeyman Humberto Quinero was signed from the Phillies organization, where he had been DFA'd on Wednesday.

So much for the 9-man no-black-hole offensive scheme (for six weeks anyway).

AAA -- Tacoma 9, Reno 7 [12 innings]  -- Box

The Big Club went into extras late into the night, and so did the Rainiers.

But, my goodness, what a game for Carlos Peguero (Watch List)!

6-for-7, HR, double

Six hits in a game is not an everyday thing.  It was his 16th homer.  Also homering were Robert Andino and Abraham Almonte (26intheMix).

AA -- Chattanooga 5, Jackson 2  -- Box

The Morbanwagon has been movin' kinda slow of late, but it revved up Friday: sixth home run plus a single and a walk for Julio Morban (Talk40 #15).

And two hits (double and single) for Daniel Paolini (Talk40 #26).

High-A -- Inland Empire 6, High Desert 2 -- Box

The Mavericks couldn't get much going.  Dillon Hazlett had a double and a single.

Low-A -- Clinton 3, Wisconsin 1 -- Box

Strong outing for Tyler Pike (Talk40 #14): 6.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K.

Alfredo Morales had two hits and a walk.

Short Season-A -- Hillsboro 4, Everett 3 [11 innings] -- Box

More extra innings.

Tyler Olson was solid: 6.0 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K.

Christian Carmichael (Watch List) homered and now has five hits in his last two games.

Rookie -- Pulaski 5, Greenville 4 -- Box

Emilio Pagan now has 10 appearances, 8 saves, 14.1 IP, 0 ER, 3 BB, 22 K.  Keep an eye on him.

Jeffrey Zimmerman had a triple and a single.

AZL Rookie -- Padres 12, Mariners 6 -- Box

Bad form to have a lopsided loss in the "complex rivalry."   And now it's the Peterson Family Rivalry as well, with D.J.'s little brother Dustin on the Padre squad.

Nevertheless, The Tank delivered.  Two more hits and a walk for Tyler O'Neill.

Looking Ahead

This is late, so it's already a little bit of not looking "ahead," but James Paxton (Talk40 #3) looks to continue his hot streak for Tacoma in Reno.
