Most of the players who move to Seattle do love the city, and why wouldn't they?
He is a defenseman for the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey organization. He is a left shooting player. His name is Brandon Schuldhaus and he is #24. Schuldhaus is a tall young man, standing at 6’3.5. His official player weight is an even 200 pounds. Schuldhaus comes from Calgary, AB and was born on February 23, 1998 in Houston. A rookie for the T-Birds this season, Schuldhaus doesn’t have a long litany of accomplishments or stats behind him just yet—but the young man is only 17 years old, so he has a long career of opportunities and chances to really rack up his points ahead of him.
The Thunderbirds announced Schuldhaus’s signing on to the team on June 29, 2015. General Manager Russ Farwell said that he was acquired the usual way, with a WHL Standard Player Agreement. Farwell says that he brings his great size to the team, something that managers are always looking for. But he also says that Schuldhaus is a good skater, an integral component when it comes to playing the game for sure. Farwell expressed hope that Schuldhaus would be an asset on the team’s defensive line. He even said that the young man has “the potential to develop into a top WHL defenseman.”
Schuldhaus told the press that he was able to spend time with the team during the last playoffs when he came to Seattle, and he really enjoyed his time there. So many players say that, which makes you think that the camaraderie on the team must just be outstanding. Schuldhaus says he is very excited about spending even more time not just with the team he met, but also the coaches.
In the 11 games he has played to date with the Thunderbirds, Sculdhaus has scored a single goal. He has also made one assist, racking up two points for the season so far. He’s also had six penalty minutes. Prior to being a T-Bird, he played with the Shattuck St. Mary’s Midget AAA team. During that time, he played 31 goals. His stats with St. Mary’s included five goals and seven assists, earning him a total of 12 points. He had 24 penalty minutes with the team.
Schuldhaus was the T-Birds’ fifth round selection during the 2013 Bantam Draft. He was the 103rd selection in the overall draft. Fans are excited to see what the young player will bring to the team in the years to come.
