RgIII to be Latest Cleveland Experiment
Griffin signs with Browns

Robert Griffin the third burst onto the NFL scene, but quickly fizzled into the background.

A promising career cut by injuries looked to have hit a brick wall last season, but now will have a new place to call home. With it, hopefully, a fresh start and a repeat of his fantastic rookie season...but it will not come easy.

RGIII was drafted by the Redskins and got off to a hot start. In fact, the quarterback broke the NFL record for QB rating in his rookie season. The hot start showed that the Redskins may have been onto something when they sold the farm for him. The team traded away 3 first round picks to get the Baylor alum.

The gamble seemed to have paid out, but quickly injury changed all of that. Griffin's first big injury came to his knee when he was slung by a defender and hit his leg into another player. The force of the hit caused his keg to bend awkwardly. Griffin would fight through the pain and showed a lot of grit, but ultimately the leg later gave out in him once more shortly there after. The results, a severe ACL injury he has yet to really bounce back from.

Since that time other inuries, character problems, and ultimately being benched for Kirk Cousins followed last season. In fact, Griffin played 0 downs in the 2015 campaign. Kirk Cousins did enough, and then some, getting the Skins into the playoffs and secured himself as starter gong forward into next season.

By all accounts RGIII will be starting next season also, but in Cleveland after the team signed him to a 2 year deal. Reports say the interview went so far as to all but promise him to start in 2016. He will be the next experiment for the team who has gone through 25 QBs, if anyone can accurately keep count, since returning to the league in 1999.

Thankfully, for him, he does not have big shoes to fill.

The Browns have had 0 luck in the draft with QBs with tge last three drafted browns quarterbacks as followed: Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel. Neither lasted more than two seasons and were in and out of the Browns lineup with numerous no name QBs in between.

RG3 has a shot to break one of tge worst trends in all of sports. That which is the bewildering bad luck that has plagued the QB position in Cleveland. If successful, a statue will be built in his likeness. If, like the rest, he fails...he will be added to the laundry list of QBs that have had a faceplate put on the back of a Bown's jersey.

The next big question will be what will the Browns now do with their 2nd overall pick. Many say they will still go QB and grab another big name. This could be good insurance for the team, but is Griffin supposed to be a bridge QB. At 26 years old he is not giving up the position easy.

In the end it will have to be earned, and in April we will see how many QBs will be fighting for the worst position in all of sports. Either way, week one in 2016 Griffin will get his chance to rebuild his career while he tgies to revamp a broken franchise.
