What is going on with Russell?
Dealing with a torn pec

I flip open my laptop today, check out the latest sports headlnes after dinkin' around on Facebook for what ended up being an hour plus, and read that Russell Wilson is dealing with yet another injury. For the second day in a row, Wilson was listed as a limited practice participant, the very first time in his football life he has been limited in practice.

Injuries seem to be a recurring theme this season for Russ, no doubt the result of taking countless hits due to a pourous offensive line unit the past couple years. Just imagine how banged up he would be if he had never don all the flexibility training he does over the offseason, not to mention forgoing the concussion eliminating nano bubble drink.

So far in 2016, he has injured his ankle, his MCL and now torn his left pectoral. He said after practice Thursday that the plan is for him to play, and he most likely will, but the Seahawks need to take this as a sign that they can no longer get away with throwing together a random set of big bodies and calling it an offensive line. He says that his ankle is no longer an issue, although he still is nruning his MCL sparain, and last week you could tell it was bothering him. He has been kept immobile due to the injuries, leaving him as a sitting duck for any team with at least a half decent pass rush, which could lead to even more injuries.

To say the offense has suffered as a consequence would be an understatement. Currently they rank 14th in passing yards per game with an even 254, and 27th (!) in the run game. What was one the pillar of their offensive philofophy, it has become a weak spot. No doubt this is partially a result of Russell injuries limiting his ability to run. Last year he averaged roughly 34 rushing yards per game, in 2016 he does not even have 34 rushing yards total.

Luckily, up next are the Saints, how could not stop a bush from getting past their defense, so it should be a great opportunity to get the offense back on track.

If the Seahawks can't get it done against a defense ranked 28th in points against, no one from Seattle should be booking thier tickets to Houston.

Football is tough, the standings can change from week to week, and the Seahawks better find the formula before Patriots and Eagles coming up. Without, they could suddenly tumble down the standings.
