T-Birds Win Game 4
Seattle hangs in the championship

We finally broke through this bizarre pattern and won a game, Seattle Thunderbirds fans! After the Brandon Wheat Kings won three games in a row with the same score, all winning by one point and all taken during overtime, the Birds were able to take Game 4 of the WHL Championship with a score of 6-1. This is one of the widest margins we have seen during the entire playoffs and championship games, and you just have to wish that we could apply it to the previous three games, right?

The T-Birds were on fire when they beat the Wheat Kings on Wednesday night at the ShoWare Center. There were enough goals to go around that both Ryan Gropp and Alexander True were able to claim two each. Remember how they were making it look easy a few weeks ago during the playoffs? During this game, they were pretty much showing off. Hopefully they are over the brief slump we saw during the previous three games and will continue with this impressive line of scoring for the rest of the championship.

You could not have guessed what a humdinger of a game this was going to be from the first period alone. There was only one goal, and it was made by Ryan Gropp. Ethan Bear and Matthew Barzal made the assists on it. Two more goals were scored during the second period. True made the first one with assists by Leth and Holowko, and then he scored again with assists from Leth and Bear. During the third period, Gropp scored again. Scott Eansor and Keegan Kolesar made the assists. Neuls made the next goal, assisted by Eansor and True. Ethan Bear made the last goal of the evening with assists from Barzal and Kolesar. Brandon was able to squeeze in one goal during the last period by Hawryluk with assists from Coulter and Provorov.

Bow was so close to getting a shutout during the game. Maybe we will get to see him manage one more shutout before the season is over. Be sure to tune in during Game 5 to find out if he does and if the Birds have another stellar night like this one. Wear your white to the game to create the “whiteout” effect that Seattle loves to pull off at T-Bird games and show your support. Do you think they will do it? Comment below and let us know.
