Per the Seattle Times: "Safety Kam Chancellor has ended his holdout and reported to the Seahawks, the team confirmed Wednesday morning. Chancellor reportedly has not gotten a new deal with the Seahawks but simply decided to end his 54-day holdout."
Tap your imaginary emerald green slippers together and say it with me... Theres no place like home, theres no place like home, theres no place like home.
Poof...open your eyes to nearly 70,000 cheering fans. Finally the 12th man will be alive and well this Sunday at Centurylink field.
After two games in seriously dangerous territory, from St Louis to Greenbay, the Seahawks finally come home this Sunday to face a winless bears team. This could not come at a better time for Seattle where fingers have went from pointing to O coordinator Bevell, to Marshawn Lynch and his mommy, to missing holdout safety Kam Chancellor. Russell Wilson of all people has now been the latest victim of the media as everyone wants to know...what is wrong with the Seatle Seahawks.
After this Sunday all of that will change. The Bears really stand no chance, Kamless or not, against the Hawks. Take that to vegas now and put down your green. One thing we do know is one of these two winless teams will be getting their first W Sunday.
The Bears will be without Jay Cutler who experienced some hammy issues last week. He could be out atleast 2 weeks with the injury. Seattle is healthy, but not looking like it offensively.
Last week they were unable to get the ball to Jimmy Graham and were very inconsistent on offense. A couple great back to back drives had me thinking Russell and the Offense were back, but quickly the team fell back into loser mode and collected their second L.
Finally though, they are back home in front of teh 12th man. Despite the record, the fans will come in droves and come loudly. The seahawks have outscored Chicago 95 to 37 and are 3 and 0 in their last three metting with Chicago. The team looks to quckly bounce back and shut up all the critics. Chicago provides the perfect victim to get back in the win column, and Centurylink field provides the perfect link to get a 1 in the win column.
After that, the team can look forward to another home game against another, currently winless team in the detroit lions. This game will also be at home and should be a good opportunity to get to .500 on the year.
If I am upper management in Seattle, I am sitting it out until atleast after the Lions game to look further into the Kam debate.
Looking ahead, Week 5 will be an important week as the team will travel to play the Bengals who currently sit at 2-0. That game will not be in Seattle either and will be a big test for the team. If the team can get through these next 2 games without Chancellor it will then turn things in their favor, and they could certainly use his services by that game.
For now, I'm just bad to be in the safe confines of Centurylink Field and the 12th man.
