If I may, I'm writing this on Thanksgiving obviously, and I'm watching the Lions and Vikings square off. I'm not sure if I've seen a Sam Bradford pass travel farther than 6 yards all game. This guy was a no. 1 pick, and the Vikings just sold off their future farm basically to make a deep run this year with him under center. Right now, that move looks like the worst decision all year because Bradford is showing he is barely more than a capable back up at this point.
On to the real story, the banged up Seahawks. Reports said that 11 players sat out practice Wednesday, including Richard Sherman and Jimmy Graham. Sherm and Jimmy are likely just resting and will be ready to go come Sunday. However Earl Thomas and Deshawn Shead are looking doubtful for making the lineup in Tampa Bay.
Relief in the pass rush should be on the way with Michael Bennett making his return this week if all goes well, which should help the learning curve for Jeremy Lane and Steven Terrell as they step in for Shead and Thomas.
Another question for them in in the run game, just as they got back to full strength, they're down a man. CJ Prosise is out a few weeks with a broken shoulder blade, just when Thomas Rawls came back to give Pete Carroll his newest edition of Thunder and Lightning in the backfield.
Thomas Rawls has been nursing injuries for nearly a full year at this point, so this fan is pessimistic on whether or not he is yet able to carry a full load. Especially with his running style. He's basically a baby Beast Mode, but how does Pete Carroll ensure that Rawls can hold up for the deep playoff run that the Seahawks now seem destined to go on?
Alex Collins was drafted to be another battering ram for the Hawks, so expect him to get his fair share of carries, especially in the first half as the Hawks aim to wear down the defense early.
Guys definitely need to step up this week, Jameis Winston is on track to be one of the game's best quarterbacks, and already is only two touchdowns behind the mark he set as a rookie with 22. Last Sunday they showed their mettle by going on the road to Arrowhead and taking a W from Kansas City, no easy feat.
