Our rotation is currently composed of James Paxton and....*four guys who literally cannot throw 6 innings to save their jobs.
OK...Miranda does throw innings if he hasn't given up four homers. Which happens about once every three starts. :\
With THIS roster, I would agitate for a piggy-back system, and, yes, that would need an eight-man pen. But even without piggy-backing, you still need eight relievers, because without eight relievers, our bullpen will die a horrible death from exhaustion long before we get to the playoffs, if we ever do.
